This seems like something that's been going on long before AI, with people outsourcing their thinking to the media, their favorite influencers, etc.
AI seems to be making it worse, but I believe this trend was already in motion.
AI is a pattern recognition machine, and it was convinced this was real—maybe because we've created so many other explanations for our behaviors?
Maybe that's also why so many believed it?
